Alain Weber- "Propos" for string quartet and symphony orchestra- world
premier.
Alain Weber, recipient of the Grand Prix de Rome in 1952 is a well
established French composer. He has been commissioned by Adrian Mcdonnell,
conductor and artistic director of the " nouvel Orchestre de la Cité
Internationale Universitaire de Paris" since 1990 to write for the Benaïm
quartet a piece in a concerto style for string quartet and orchestra,
"Propos". This piece will be world premiered at the Cité Universitaire
international, Paris by the Benaïm string quartet and the orchestra of the
Cité Universitaire Internationale Adrian Mcdonnelle conducting, in the the
beautifull theatre built by Rockefeller. Other than "Propos" by Alain Weber
for string quartet and orchestra, there will be pieces by Brahms and Debussy
with conductor Julien Leroy, assistant conductor to Mr. Mcdonnelle.
